Starbucks meet with my mentor

Saturday, April 26, 2014, I met with my mentor from 12-2 P.M. and we went over lesson plans. She showed me what was needed to create one and how to prepare for your lesson. I learned how important a lesson plan is to a teacher because it outlines how the day is play out. A lesson plan is needed because a teacher should know what to teach their students that day and also be ready to teach that lesson.

The First Meeting (March 25, 2014)

Tuesday, March 25, 2014, I met with my mentor from 3:00 P.M - 5:00 P.M.  At first, she gave me the work that she has graded and inputted them into grading logs.  After I finished putting the grades into the grading logs, I sat down next to Ms. Lauderdale.  She made me take notes about her daily routine and what she does during lunch and after school.  She told me about "Common Core", which she is a trainer for.  I learned that the Common Core tries to get better, set standards for all subjects.  Ms. Lauderdale only gave me a "sneak peak" about the Common Core program because she wanted to go more into depth about it another day.  I learned that my mentor works for free for about 6 hours a day.
